January 14th (Thursday) EtchujimaA career path development workshop was held in the Campus Marine Research Strategic Management Organization conference room, with seven students participating and lectured by Specially Appointed Associate Professor Noriko Hattori of the Career Support Center.
The workshop began with an introduction, a check-in to objectively view oneself. Each student organized "Who I am today" from multiple perspectives and presented their findings to one another. This was followed by an explanation of the doctoral program's career path, along with the definition of career and career design know-how. Students then reflected on their own SEEDS, NEEDS, and WANTS in chronological order, and considered self-understanding, social understanding, and individuality based on the concept of career anchors. Based on this, they deepened their self-understanding in line with the "five qualities that incorporate chance into your career" proposed by contingency theory. Finally, students used a workbook to self-evaluate their own qualities, providing an opportunity to reflect and think about themselves and their careers from a bird's-eye view.
