Kathmandu — The Seminar on Tourism Management in Nepal, jointly organized by the Nepal-China Friendship Forum (NCFF) and Ningbo Polytechnic University, China, officially began today in Kathmandu. The 10-day program, which runs from December 2 to December 11, 2025, aims to strengthen Nepal’s tourism capacity through international collaboration, advanced training, and knowledge exchange.

The Opening Ceremony gathered a distinguished group of attendees, including representatives from Nepal’s tourism industry, officials from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Nepal, experts from Ningbo Polytechnic University, government officials, and tourism professionals.

During the welcome remarks, NCFF emphasized the long-standing friendship between Nepal and China, highlighting ongoing cooperation in education, culture, and tourism. The organization expressed appreciation for the continued support of the Chinese Embassy and acknowledged the presence of embassy delegates at the event.

Ningbo Polytechnic University—one of China’s reputed institutions in vocational, hospitality, and tourism studies—has sent a team of experienced professors and specialists to lead the seminar. Their sessions will focus on global tourism trends, destination branding, service quality enhancement, sustainable tourism practices, and China’s successful tourism development model.

Government representatives reaffirmed that tourism remains a critical pillar of Nepal’s economy. They stressed the importance of stronger international marketing, consistent service standards, and professional skill development to make Nepal more competitive in the global tourism landscape.

The contributions of the Nepal Tourism Board were also recognized, particularly its continuous efforts to promote Nepal worldwide and support initiatives aimed at building national tourism capacity.

Over the coming days, participants will engage in classroom lectures, interactive discussions, hands-on learning activities, and field visits designed to deepen their understanding of modern tourism management.

Organizers expressed confidence that the seminar will help Nepal cultivate a more dynamic, innovative, and sustainable tourism industry—one capable of attracting more international visitors and expanding economic opportunities for local communities.

The Opening Ceremony concluded with gratitude to all partners, speakers, and participants, reaffirming a shared commitment to advancing the future of Nepal’s tourism sector.
